Flytrex Core – A Black Box for UAVs

Today I received my Flytrex Core. This little piece of electronics is inserted in between the DJI PMU (power management unit) and the GPS/compass module. It uses a microSD card to log the flight's data. Each time the UAV platform is powered on, it starts recording to a new file. I will take it up for a spin tomorrow for a first real-world data collection.

The recorded data (.fpv file format) has to be uploaded to flytrex.com and can be exported to .csv and .kml files for further use. It logs data such as speed, elevation, altitude, coordinates, compass heading and air pressure. Depending on the platform you are using (DJI, APM or Blade) there is a different cable harness for each.
