Life is Strange: A Game as a Movie or a Movie as a Game?
Published on May 26, 2015
With "Life is Strange", Dontnod Entertainment and Square Enix have released a game that is being published in five episodes. Episodes one to three are available right now, and the remaining two are scheduled to follow over the next four months.
The game revolves around an 18-year-old girl who discovers, more or less against her will, that she can rewind time, and saves the life of a young woman in the process.
What makes the concept fresh is that the decisions you have to make as the player determine how the rest of the game plays out. The overall storyline is set, of course, but you can, for example, play it safe with choices that pay off in the long run, or go for a quick win instead.
We played through the first three episodes over the last two days and were thrilled.
In Europe, the fourth episode is expected to arrive between July 8 and 15, 2015. The fifth episode is scheduled for release between August 26 and September 2, 2015.
More information about the game is available on the official Life is Strange website.
